Harbour From The Air

The Tay Corinthian Boating Club (TCBC) is based in Tayport Harbour, which is located on the south side of the "River Tay". The harbour consists of pontoons where the boats berth and is very picturesque with lovely view's of the River. The pontoons have the capacity for berthing over 80 boats of all varying sizes and shapes. The TCBC is very much a family orientated club with the emphasis on pleasure sailing for the whole family. The club runs cruises to locations on the river and further a field in the height of summer when the weather is kinder. Facilities in the harbour are good, there is a club house, which consists of a caravan.  The harbour has been dredged for the 2005 season and it is expected that depths of 1.5 meters will be available at most states of tide. Caution should be taken as this depth is not yet confirmed.

Electricity and water are also available on the harbour wall (a small charge is made for the use of electricity). Security in the harbour area hasn't been a problem, the entrance to the pontoons is through a locked gate and only members of the club have a key for access.
This is the best port of call for visitors to the "Firth of Tay" and has an easy entrance available approx. 3 1/2 hours either side of high water. Coming in from seaward entrance just West of timber Larick Pile beacon (conspicuous) -approach harbour mouth from main channel just East of Craig Buoy. Coming from the West, harbour is about 1/2 mile East of abandoned Lighthouse and Craig Buoy should be rounded to starboard. Beware moored yachts off harbour entrance and strong tides across harbour mouth.
